In the April 17th Metro section of The Roanoke Times, Lindsey Nair's article Corner Shot opens: "On a recent evening, I was watching 'Antiques Roadshow.' A very knowledgeable man in a very bad suit was explaining to another guy that the value of his huge, French expedition poster probably was hindered, not helped, by its massive size."
Nicholas Lowry, President of Swann Galleries and head of the poster department, makes frequent appearances as an appraiser on Antiques Roadshow. His loud, brightly colored suits and effusive exuberance towards each poster—whether a rare advertising masterpiece or one more suitable for a dorm room wall—make him an easily identifiable fixture on the show. Hear him discuss David Klein's 1956 TWA poster in a segment from the Phoenix episode, which originally aired on April 19th, here.
