If your summer travels take you to the Boston area, be sure to visit the Museum of Fine Arts, which has added a handful of works to their collection via Swann's African-American Fine Art auctions.
An untitled Norman Lewis oil on canvas circa 1960-64 that sold at Swann in October 2008 set an auction record for the artist of $312,000.
Also gracing the MFA's walls are works by abstract painter and collage artist Al Loving, including Cube 27, which brought $84,000 in February 2009.Labels: African-American Fine Art, Al Loving, MFA, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Nigel Freeman, Norman Lewis
