An Annie Leibovitz photograph of John Lennon and Yoko Ono embracing will be among the highlights of Swann's October 19 auction of Fine Photographs & Select Photobooks. The AP released a brief write-up on the sale of the image today and the story has spread widely.
John Lennon and Yoko Ono, New York, cibachrome print, 1980 has a pre-sale estimate of $10,000 to $15,000. It was taken as part of the Rolling Stone photo shoot that resulted in the iconic 1981 magazine cover.
