Today's Top Lots--007 Edition

There's a reason James Bond is eternally sexy. The secret rests in the three top lots from today's sale, The Otto Penzler Collection of British Espionage and Thriller Fiction. Ian Fleming's first edition tales of 007 were the day's top selling items, including 12 of the 20 top lots.

An archive of correspondence between Fleming, Richard Chopping (who designed these iconic cover images) and others involved in the production of the James Bond books in the 1950s-60s, brought $57,600. An inscribed copy of Moonraker, the third Bond novel, brought $50,400. James Bond's first adventure, Casino Royale, fetched $33,600.
