Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Kniende Mädchenakt, etching and aquatint on heavy, cream wove paper, circa 1908. Estimate: $10,000 to 15,000.
Kirchner's Kniende Mädchenakt is up for auction on Tuesday, April 27th in Swann's Old Master Through Modern Prints auction. Schiefler, who first recorded Kirchner's works, included mention of the print; however, when Dube wrote the catalogue raisonné, he writes that it is "Bei Schiefler beschreiben, uns jedoch unbekannt geblieben," or "included in Schiefler, but believed to be unfound." There is not even a version in the Kirchner Museum Davos.
