Franz Liszt, Autograph Inscription Signed to his piano instructor Carl Czerny. Estimate: $500 to 750; and Franz Liszt, Autograph Letter Signed "FLiszt" to unnamed publisher "Dear Friend," Weimar, 22 January [18]49. Estimate: $2,000 to 3,000.

The Autographs sale on April 22nd includes a large selection devoted to musicians. An autographed letter from Franz Liszt to an unnamed publisher, written in German and French, provides instructions for the publication of three fantasies and three nocturnes dedicated to Princess Marie Wittgenstein. 

A letter signed by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy to H. Léonard about his orchestration for Antigone is also featured in the music section, as is an autograph musical quotation signed by Puccini, two bars from his La Boheme, and items related to Rachmaninoff, Strauss, Verdi and other composers.
